Q: What is the difference between JobCoach and JobCoach Lite?
A: JobCoach Lite is a free version of JobCoach, and limits the tips you receive to 12 of the JobCoach 2-Minute To-Do’s, while the full version of JobCoach has over 75 To-Do’s to move you forward. Also, JobCoach allows you more control over the type of tips you receive.
Q: Which devices will JobCoach work with?
A: The App works with the new iPhone 3G, the original iPhone, and iPod touch.
Q: How do I know which To-Do’s I’ve completed, and which I can still do?
A: Go to the Library, and select one of the categories. To-Do’s you’ve accepted (we assume you’ve completed them!) are indicated with a green checkmark. The grey checkmarks are tips you haven’t yet accepted. You can also track your overall progress by going to Settings, then selecting Activity Summary to view your total To-Do’s completed by category.
Q: What if I want to do a To-Do again?
A: Easy. Simply find the To-Do in the Library, then tap the Accept button at the bottom. The application will let you do it all over again.
Q: Can I customize the To-Do’s I receive?
A: Yes! If you have the full version of JobCoach, go into your Settings, then Preferences. For each category, or area of the job search, you can indicate which To-Do’s you want to receive (All, Skip the Basics, or Just the Advanced). Tailor this for each category, and your JobCoach app will be customized just for you.
Q: Do I have to do every To-Do?
A: Of course not. This is your application and your job search. Each To-Do presented offers you two options: I Accept (so you can complete the tip), or Bah, Next (which skips this To-Do and shows you the next one). Accept or skip each one as you wish. Just remember, the more actions you take on your job search, the faster you move toward your next job.
Q: What if I want to work on just one area of my job search at a time?
A: The Library allows you to view all the To-Do’s associated with each category, or area of the job search. Choose the area you want to work on, then select To-Do’s from the list and tap on the Accept button to complete the task.
Q: Is this all I have to do to find a job?
A: The success and speed of your job search is largely dependent on how much you put into it, as well as the market in which you’re operating and your specific skill set. Many of the To-Do’s will get you started thinking about an area of your job search, resume, networking strategy, etc., but only you can determine how well you take the tips and apply them. We strongly encourage you to follow-up on each email, audio, or link from JobCoach right away, so you can act on it while the advice from the experts is fresh in your mind. Set aside time each week to work on your job search, and be willing to stretch yourself a little.
Q: What if I need more help?
A: If you’re getting stuck on any part of your job search, a professional resume writer, job search coach, or career coach can help you get beyond any barriers and move forward more quickly. We can help you find the right solution or person: Simply go to Settings and select Get Personalized Help. We’re here to help.
Q: I found a job! Now what?
A: Congratulations! Please contact us and let us know the details – we love to hear success stories! Also, think about hiring a coach to help you integrate into your job successfully and avoid some of the pitfalls. It’s a solid investment in yourself to make sure you make the most of the opportunity. Tell me more
Q: Who made this great application, anyway?
A: The content was provided by Buoyant Life, the design and user experience created by the Hot Studio team, and the application programming was performed by WebEnertia. Each partner contributed their expertise and collaborated to make JobCoach the best job search application available for iPhone. We invite you to visit our websites to see what else we can do.
